Ground broken for a new girls dormitory and central dining hall brickwork finished. The model school building will soon be finished. improvements at the school boost its service to the state. Prof Goodwin of Morganton visited with his basketball team en route to Newland. The new electric plant powers brighter lights at the school. The Baptist Young People's Union of Boone went to join a local church.

Worth While Club Meets at Hagaman Home
The Worth While Club gathered October 31 at 2 p.m. in Mrs. G. P. Hagaman’s chrysanthemum decorated parlor. A brief business session discussed items and winter plans for Boone’s sick and the club’s comfort efforts. Refreshments followed and bulbs were buried in the Worth White garden. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Payne and Mrs. Dempsey Wilcox at Mrs. Wilcox’s home.
