Grace Hospital at Banner Elk opens to receive patients in a sixty bed facility. The formal dedication is set for May 23. Prominent Hickory merchant R W Stevenson 75 died after a long illness. He was a native of Alexander County and father of Charles Stevenson of Boone. Funeral held Friday at his residence with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. He married Julia Bowles in 1884 and is survived by multiple children.
