Mother 93 Sent to the Pasquotank Poor House
A 93 year old mother, Mrs. Clarkie Simpson, is sent to Pasquotank County poor house after years of toil to raise four children. Her son Sam, a prosperous farmer and blacksmith, failed to arrange care, leaving her to die in the county home. The piece recounts her hardship and her son Bill placing her in the poor house.
