In 1914 notice to all persons claiming against the estate of Charity J. Brown late of Watauga County and State of North Hort droftun to present claims duly authenticated within 12 months or be barred. Creditors urged to settle accounts immediately. Signed by administrator A Mr. Brown on January 20, 1914.
Notice of summons issued in a divorce case filed by the plaintiff Hale against the defendant in North Carolina. The defendant cannot be found in state and must appear at the February 24 1914 term or answer the complaint, or a default judgment will be entered. W. J. Thomas files the affidavit of diligence. The notice is dated February 24 1914 by Wm. Parthing.
Notice of sale by executors in Watsuga County dated Feb 19 1914 under superior court order. Sheriff JGERS will sell EB Miller and WW Miller’s property at public auction on 23 1914 at 1 PM at county door. Property begins at a walnut on Snake ridge, passing landmarks and lines to describe 62 acres more or less adjoining William Hodge and Bors PAY, bounded by Miller and Day lines. Cash bids to highest bidder.
In the Watenga County Superior Court action James Davenport vs Potter et al, the court orders a March sale of lands described by metes and bounds including adjoining properties of Jo Tek, W A Johnson, and others. The sale at the courthouse will transfer the Potter interests to the highest bidder to satisfy the judgment.

He will found the Grandfather Orphan Home to care for mountain children, occupying the Lybrook farm with a 15 room dwelling, aiming for mid August opening. Donations of furniture stock poultry clothing and more will be welcomed.
