Knitting Socks Instructions from Red Cross Brief

The Red Cross brief of June 1 outlines sock knitting specs for workers. Socks should measure 11 to 12 inches from heel back to toe, about 4 inches across the instep, and 14 inches from heel bottom to sock top. Cast on by inches rather than stitch counts and aim for a four inch width at the leg, ensuring knots are absent inside for soldiers to wear.
