Watauga Avery Bridge Act Authorized and Financed

The boards of Watauga and Avery counties are authorized and directed to contract and finance the construction of iron or steel bridges over Watauga River South Fork New River at the Salmons place and Ford on the Beaver Dam road, with joint sessions to let contracts. Tax levies up to twenty five cents per hundred dollars via special bridge taxes in each county fund construction and maintenance. The act takes effect upon ratification and petitions.

Wagner lived at Stony Fork, served in the Confederate Army, married Eliza Green in 1866, and left five living children, numerous grandchildren, and many friends. He was recalled as a loyal husband loving father and generous neighbor who faced illness with patience. The message requests continued prayers for his children and grandchildren as they move forward.
