L N Perkins a Civil War veteran and longtime Boone resident died at his home after a weeks long illness. He was native to Mouth of Wilson Virginia and married Mary F Shearer in 1880. Survived by widow and children in California and Virginia. Funeral held at his home with Rev A Hicks officiating and interment in Shearer Graveyard near Professor Greer spoke briefly on his life.
