Rendezvous Mountain Becomes North Carolina State Park

Rendezvous Mountain in Wilkes county, site of Revolutionary War select 225 volunteers for Kings Mountain, is donated to North Carolina as a state park. The 140 acre site features three peaks and a D A R summer clubhouse, with plans for a monument and highway funding from the state.

Blowing Rock School Begins Christmas Program With Charity Drive

The Blowing Rock school opened its Christmas season with a tree and evening entertainment. Students received fruit and candy, a 20 dollar charity raise for Near East relief was announced, and a sequence of plays and dances highlighted the program led by Principal A. E. Mercer.

Dougherty backs uniform state school system proposal

Prof. B. B. Dougherty of the ypnalachi Normal School endorses a state wide equalizing fund of 5 million dollars with safeguards.
