Mrs. Lee Clawson Dies At Rutherwood
Mrs. Lee Clawson, 60, of the Rutherwood section, died at her home Friday after a three week illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at Boone Methodist Church with Dr. O. J. Chandler officiating and burial in the city cemetery. She was active in the church and community works. Surviving are her husband, a son Bland Clawson of Rutherwood, and a daughter Mrs. Lawrence Cook of Washington.

Father of Prof Wilson Near-Fatal Shooting Accident
Professors Chappell Wilson and Vance Howell returned from Robeson County last Friday where the father of Prof Wilson was near fatally shot in an accident earlier in the week. Initial reports said critical condition but later word indicated improvement and expected recovery. The incident occurred during a gun trade when Mr Wilson examined a weapon and was accidentally shot.
