Mrs. Dana Sale, teacher at Sandy Flat on Meat Camp, found the building locked and windows sealed with a bold note declaring no more school there. Investigators blame no group for the act, urging community aid to identify and convict the culprit and protect lawful schooling.

Nelia Taylor was thrown from a horse and injured with two broken ribs.

Washington December 6 President Coolidge has stopped receiving large parties of callers to save time per a letter from his secretary Everett Sanders to Senator Overman. Watauga County officials elected in November took the oath of office on Monday. Roby Greer was named chairman of the board of commissioners, with Roby Greer, T. C. Baird and J. Y. Walker as commissioners. Emery Greer and L. M. Farthing, with Pearl Hartley, took oaths as treasurer and register of deeds. Sheriff Farthing and Mrs. Hartley begin second terms as sheriff and register of deeds.
In Rominger at Zion Hill Baptist church a revival brought 35 new members, 23 baptized on November 28 with eight more likely to be baptized in December. Rev. L. C. Wilson led most sermons as the church and pastor welcomed his services.
Washington reports Congress convened for a brief session of about two and a half months. Both chambers opened with formalities as Vice President Dawes and Speaker Longworth struck gavels at noon. Arthur R. Gould of Maine faced a Senate qualification challenge before swearing in.
