Normal School Opens with Record Fall Registration
The Appalachian State Normal began its fall term Tuesday with dormitory space fully booked and many students housed off campus. Most enrollees seek teacher training and the two year college program, likely making this the largest fall opening in the school's history following a summer session with over 1,600 students. The Demonstration public school also started with higher enrollment than last year.

Cove Creek High Announces September 6 Opening
Cove Creek High School will begin its 1927 28 session on Tuesday morning September 6 instead of Monday September 5. Principal Sam F Horton says the change is due to a teacher being summoned to court and many students likely attending court. School will be in session on Saturday of the first week.
