The Young Peoples Missionary Society of the Methodist church will host a party at Critcher Hotel on Friday night August six starting at eight. Proceeds go to the new Methodist church. Refreshments will be served and a program by the Yes Society will entertain. Public invited. Housing news notes a county purchase of the Moretz property spring for a 25 000 gallon reservoir to supply county buildings and nearby homes with water. Open muffler violations persist in Boone at night and drivers under sixteen are restricted from highway operation. a local appeal asks for enforcement by the police.

Statesville Visitors Sightsee in Boone During Week
A group from Statesville toured Boone and stayed about a mile outside town for two to three days. Dr. F P L Sharpe camped with goal of weight loss and roughing it. W J Lazenby acted as chaperone to State Highway Inspector Hocutt. George Critcher and J F Anderson enjoyed meals at T L Critcher's brother's home for nearly a week. Anderson and T L Critcher also traveled over the Linville River railway to Johnson City and back.
