Henry Rombold, 46, was arrested in Des Moines on charges of passing counterfeit money. A roll valued at $50 in $5 and $10 bills was found on him. He says he bought the fakes in Dubuque. Federal authorities are investigating. they suspect an agent from Chicago supplied the bills.

Live Wire Tragedy Claims Marion Clerk in Electrical Accident
A Marion drug store clerk named Frank Leahey formerly of Chicago was instantly killed after touching a live wire connected to an electric fan. Several others were severely injured in similar fashion as a transmitter failure is suspected. One man suffered a hand burn to the bone and three others had to pull him from the burning line.
