Local scene at Williams Pharmacy in Sim City as the front show case collapses spilling mineral oil milk magnesia rubbing alcohol and cleaning supplies. Workers McKown and John Murray quickly absorb the liquids with dirt and begin cleaning with shovels buckets and mops.
City and county officials reported three roadside holdups Saturday night. In two cases money and watches were taken. in the third nothing was taken. A motorist and a lady friend were flagged down on the Bed Road near Eastside Lake. robbers armed and masked demanded money but only one victim was affected.
City public schools opened today with about 1 500 students enrolled. Officials report high initial turnout as schools begin sessions and grade levels resume after a short hiatus.
A ransacking at the William Bowling residence on State Road 50 A east of town was reported Friday. Items taken include a green Schaeffer fountain pen a gold band ring a mesh compact several pins medals and prayer beads. No further details available.

The Tax Adjustment Board for Davies County set a two day hearing schedule for Wednesday and Thursday next week. Mary Catherine Vickers died September 12 in Indianapolis after a lingering illness. Born January 8, 188, in Martin County, she was married to My Vickers in 1902 and lived in Burns City. Surviving: husband, children Victor, Lester, Mrs. Gary Wirey, Leland, Mrs. Wilbur Arford, Iris. siblings John, Dolph, Claude Bowman, and others. Burial details not listed.
