The three year old son of Mr and Mrs Lon Yegdin living at Tillmar Ragsdale on South Meridian swallowed cresoline a caustic disinfectant. Mrs Yocum left him asleep while she went to the store and he drank from a case containing cresoline. He was found at the top of the stairs unconscious with burning in his mouth and on his body doctors treated him and he showed improvement. The family planned to move the next day and had packed part of their belongings including the cresoline in two cases.

Shoals, Sept 10 Claude Clifton aged thirteen son of James Clifton who owns Jug Rock farm suffered a broken nose and upper lip when carbide exploded in a closed can during experimentation with Cour ier Anchlin both boys from the West Side were injured. Clifton required stitches and faces disfigurement while Anchlin sustained facial bruises and burns.
