Frank Zinkan Pleads Guilty in Circuit Court
Frank Zinkan pleaded guilty before Judge J W Oydon in circuit court to illegally selling liquor. He was fined 100 dollars plus costs after an appeal from Mayor J W McCarty. Affidavits dated May 1 1922 allege Zinkan sold liquor to Bernard Mattily and Theodore Schadd. Drowning Tragedy Strikes Island Camp Near Albany
In Albany Indiana on September 5 a group camping on an island in the Ohio River saw John Knoob 19 drown after a strong undertow. Edwin Cronwy and Kevanauch Kavanaugh attempted rescue but were swept away. Edwin Fiie survived, aided by G S Foster in a canoe. Knoob's body recovered while others, including Knool's companions and Edith Lamke, Mary Libesch, Steven Day, John Minor, and Cletus Ffeffer, were present at the scene.

Frederick Draws Prison Sentence in Lawrencville Case
Frederick Frrederick, arrested at Lawrenceville Illinois and returned to Washington to answer a charge of passing forged checks, pled guilty in Daviess circuit court and was sentenced to the Indiana reformatory for a term of two to fourteen years, fined 50 dollars and costs. He admitted forging the name of Mrs Htta Hyatt widow of Elisha Hyatt to several checks he cashed locally. The court found him to be seventeen years old. George M. Thompson, jailed on failure to support his children, was sentenced to six months at the Indiana penal farm and fined 50 dollars. Earl pleaded guilty in Mayor McCarty court, fined 300 dollars and costs and sentenced to the penal farm, but appealed to circuit court, then pled guilty to liquor disposal before Judge Ogdon, fined 100 dollars and costs. Other docket actions include various divorces, settlements, and dismissals with costs.
