A South Tern brakeman was killed at Flora in a tragic accident. Investigations are underway as officials confirm the incident and note the fatal injuries.
Soudritte, a B and O Western brakeman on the local run between the city and Flora, was ground to pieces beneath a train in the Flora yards at 12 16 Sunday morning. He had worked for many years and was well liked, leaving a wife and baby. The funeral was held in Flora today at 3 o'clock.
Twelve negro employees sued the Indianapolis Southern construction camp, which had made the place its headquarters, causing fear that other workers would flee if any work remained. They left for western parts of the county, while some men who had no other opportunity sought other labor.
