Charles Sawyer known as Buck Lawyer, 28 of Plainville, was convicted by a Daviess circuit court jury of robbery with a weapon for the Osman Brothers store holdup at Epsom. He received the minimum ten year sentence in the state reformatory from Judge M S Hastings after the verdict. The jury deliberated from 2:15 am until 2:00 pm with reports of 14 ballots. Defense planned a new trial as testimony showed conflict between state and defense witnesses.
