Washington, May 6. A donor testified before the senate lobby committee that Bishop James Cannon Jr. of the Methodist Episcopal church, south, misrepresented anti Smith movement contributions in 1928. E C Jameson said he gave Cannon 65300 in cash and checks made out to cash, contradicting Cannon's report of 17300. He stated he contributed 115300 to Cannon and other anti Smith workers and 32500 to Hoover. The committee produced a telegram showing Cannon asked Jameson to align reports with his prior figures. Jameson also said Good and Slemp aided the funding and Cannon was advised to list 48000 as donated to the anti Smith effort.
