Indiana faced serious flood threats as rivers rose rapidly after four days of heavy rain. Hundreds fled their homes in Indianapolis Muncie Marion and rural areas while lowlands forced evacuations. Cold weather tempered rises then unsettled forecasts hinted at more rain tonight and Tuesday.
In White Plains on March 21 Howard W. Browning, aged two, wins an absolute separation from Frances Heenan, a year younger, in a sensational suit before Supreme Court Justice A. H. Seeger. The ruling dismisses Mrs Browning’s claim and her cross-bill. Browning receives no alimony. The case was filed in Putnam County Court after the pair’s brief separation, with floods in Daviess County looming as a backdrop to the high profile divorce decision.
Hale Tolson was sentenced to one to fourteen years in the Pendleton state reformatory and fined $10 after pleading guilty. Ernest Carter, already pleading guilty, received a similar term and $10 fine. James Christenberry, 17, pleaded guilty to complicity, received one to fourteen years suspended for good behavior, and a $10 fine. They were arrested for stealing a large coil of copper wire from Edwardsport light company near Mak Grove cemetery. two were seen cutting the wire as they were captured the next day.
Mrs Deborah Colbert 75 died at her South Washington home at 6 this morning after a long illness cancer of the head. Born May 14 1870 in Daviess county she spent her life there and in South Washington. She married John Colbert February 20 1870 and six children were born two survive James Colbert and Mrs Helen Longer. Surviving also are twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral Wednesday at 3 pm in South Washington with burial in Oak Grove. She was a member of the Church of Christ and Pythian Sisters.
Rapid river rises flood both forks of the White River across Daviess County Indiana. Roads including Federal Highway 50 and State Road 67 near Newberry and Edwardsport are inundated or closed. Maysville Plainville and Newberry report hour to hour rises, with potential crop damage and continued high waters for several days while forecasts call for cloudy unsettled weather.
Forecasts warned of more rain as Wabash White rivers swell, forcing lowland residents to flee. Heavy weekend rain sent rivers out of banks in Indiana with property damage feared and roads washed out, while Peru and nearby towns watched the Wabash rise to winter highs and disrupt rail service.

Terre Haute Indiana remains cut off from surrounding areas except for the National Broadcast line as floods rise after heavy rain. A morning downpour swollen streams worsened the flood situation at the city’s southern edge, though the Wabash River has not yet been seriously affected.
Noblesville Indiana reports continuous rains cause White River and Cicero creek to rise rapidly. Thousands of acres of lowlands flood while the river nears overflowing its banks and Stony Creek approaches the Indiana Polis and Noblesville road.
Local mathematicians estimate that during the rain Friday night Greenfield received a total of 43,200,000 gallons of water. In the prior 24 hours up to yesterday morning, 1.95 inches of rain had fallen in the city.

Born Sandoval Michigan June 24 1872, she had lived in Washington for about thirty years and was active as a wife and mother.
Judge M S Hastings presides in juvenile court as Tolson child case comes before the board of county commissioners. The circuit court term closed Saturday after a busy session. Another juvenile case is slated for this afternoon.
The Business Men's Association will hold its regular meeting tonight at City Hall at 7 45 o clock.
