The missive relays no injuries in their location and confirms their well being to anxious friends in the area.
Miss Ruth Farris escaped unharmed after the quake incident last Friday near Los Angeles. Miss Alice McKysiney of Wash stated Farris, who lived in Washington about a year, escaped without injury while preparing to establish residence in Los Angeles.
Funeral services for Sarah Ellen Grubb, who died Monday, were held this morning at Central Christian Church with Rev Fy Lather officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
The funeral of Edward Omer Orchard, who died Monday, was held this afternoon at 2:30. Revs J Luther officiated at the Plainville church. Burial followed in Ville cemetery.
Tomato growers from Daviess and Knox counties met this afternoon at the courthouse to discuss important problems. The session began at 1 oclock and drew a large attendance.
Lt Paul Reinsel will speak at 8 o clock on a discussion titled Solution to Map Problems at a troop meeting in St Paul. The public is invited and attendees are encouraged to join the session at the school location.
RQ Smith manager of the Cincinnati Producers will attend the livestock feeders meeting at the courthouse Thursday night March 16. He will discuss cooperative movement and shipping of livestock and explain the value of organized effort to farmers. Washington Township native cited as a leading cooperative association sponsor.
Washington reports President Roosevelt plans a two point program to provide immediate employment for at least 200000 men in national forests and farm relief. The proposal, to be submitted to Congress soon, aims to put people to work now and support relief efforts nationwide.
Wall street resumes trading in stocks and bonds after a nine day shutdown with the Dow Jones indices and bond market rising sharply. Traders report the first million share day since September 22, 1902 as commodity markets also open with gains and talk of broad improvements across sectors.
