James LeForce nineteen of Terre Haute guarding the Baltimore and Ohio bridge at Vincennes was fatally struck by eastbound train number 4 around six this morning. The body dragged twenty feet along the track and fell into the Wabash River. Gilley, the engineer, said LeForce was asleep on the track and Kellams, the fireman, did not see the accident. LeForce’s family, already struck by misfortune, planned to have his body sent to Terre Haute.
