Terrible triple death at Terre Haute store above grocery
In Terre Haute on June 28 three bodies were found in an apartment above a grocery store. Wesley N. Oakley, 55, storekeeper, was shot in his room. Clara Raney, 28, housekeeper, and her 6-year-old son Carl were in an adjoining room, each with a single bullet wound. A 32 caliber revolver lay in Mrs Raney's hand. Police suspect Mrs Raney killed Oakley and her son before taking her own life. Alice Oakley, 15, and authorities found the scene after a call to the store.

Schroeder to Lead Officers in Wreck Spot Probe
Indianapolis June 28 A night of May 30th events ended with the body of an unknown man burned in the back of a Schroeder driven auto. Mobile Alabama resident Schroeder was to be questioned by investigators today while two sisters expected in Indianapolis would aid in statements. Officers planned to have him identify the wreck site and sequence after leaving the speedway for the 500 mile race. Police believe the victim was Frank Macy of Cincinnati based on clothing and other clues, though Macy's identity remains not fully confirmed.

Harry C. Clark 30 of Indianapolis, a former local resident, drowned Thursday afternoon while helping Frieda Sweetman near a stream. His body was recovered by deputy sheriffs. He will be brought home for funeral services at St. Simon's Catholic Church Monday at 9 am. Survived by widow, parents Chris and Ila Clark, and siblings Joseph Hembree, Leonard, Charles, and Curtis. Funeral arrangements by Ed Keller. Clark born March 4, 1900, near Portersville Road, Loogootee. married January 5, 1923 to a daughter of John Wenders. He served three years in the army after World War I. The body will be taken to the Wenders home near Portersville road upon arrival in Washington before the funeral.
