The Washington Junior Legion team opened their schedule this afternoon at Princeton with Jack Mc Murtrey chosen for pitching duties and a catcher undecided at game time. Travelers included Bruner Kenworthy H Lemon B Lemon R H Clark Plainville Hook Mangin and J Phillipe.
Supt Clyde Parker of Washington city schools leaves for New York City to attend the annual convention of the National Educational Association he will return July 2.
A J Standley living southeast of Washington said he brought a load of wheat to the P M Walker Mill in Wash. The new crop yields 60% to the bushel and the field averages 15 bushels to the acre.
The Washington Cor Cors host Servel, a top Ev ansville city league team, in a Southwestern Indiana softball date. Jasper faces Shoals and Vincennes plays Loogootee as part of the same night’s schedule.
The Way Country Club golf team will travel to Lawrenceville for a tournament with the local Lawrenceville squad. Players should depart early and be ready to begin play between 1:00 and 1:30 PM, with the 18 holes completing early as normal.

Verlin Joel Wilson aged three months, child of Thomas and Ada Wilson of Bogard township, died at 12 30 pm yesterday at the family residence half a mile north of Cornettsville after a four week illness. Survived by parents, one sister Rachel Marie, and grandfather L A Williams of Lawrence Indiana. Funeral held today at New Bethel church at 2 pm with Rev J A Fields officiating. burial in New Bethel cemetery. Elwood Williams in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. John Dillard of Orleans RFD 3 and Mrs. Guy Grigsby of West Baden RFD 1 underwent major operations this morning and today respectively. Paul Grannan of 614 West Walnut Street had a major operation yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Floyd Williams of RFD 3 and Roy Scheid of RFD 4 submitted to minor operations today.
Officers of the cod camp held a farewell banquet at the Blue Bird for Captain Harry R ae who has been transferred to the Bluffton camp. Chaplain Karl F Trent suffered a mild neurotic heart attack during the evening and was taken by ambulance to Fort Benjamin Harrison hospital last night.

Alburquerque New Mexico June 24 INS Search for Medill McCormick 21 son of the Chicago publishing family extended to all sections of New Mexico as no trace of the youth north of Albuquerque where he reported on a hiking trip. His mother Mrs Ruth Hanna McSimms fears he may have been overtaken by a severe storm in the rugged Sandia Range. Former congressman Albert G Simms said shelter from the peak would be sought and return home unharmed. Richard Whitmer 21 of Albuquerque left forenoon to drive about 15 miles into the mountains to rim of Sandia Range. Heavy rains have fallen in the Sandia Range in the past 54 hours.
The Dubois circuit court will hear the Ott Workman case on Monday with twelve jurors to be selected from a pool of fifty names. The trial will determine the charges and outcome for the accused.
