Reports say seating will end in time for members to hear the Braddock Louis boxing match with the bout slated to start at 9 o clock local time. Organizers urge a large attendance for the election event at the club rooms.
Three Washing ton Country Club players John Simpson John T Reinsel and Chick Yarbrough and W E Easton of Bickell took part in a Terre Haute golf event Sunday. They tied with Greencastle for visiting team honors and won on a toss up.
Billy Steele of Washington performed in Evansville Sunday night on WGBF for the Bentley Variety Shows finals where he is a notable impersonator. He will also be heard July 4th on WGBF in an announcer audition.
J J Michaels, formerly with Washington and Montgomery and most recently a Prudential representative in Boonville, is transferred to Washington and will operate from the local office going forward.
Cecil Conrad of Ferdinand was fined one dollar after pleading guilty to a public charge. The brief court action records the settlement of a minor offense with a nominal penalty.
Mrs Ada Kellams Schuck 69 widow of Henry Schuck died at 12 35 PM at 902 West Van Trees Street after a six year illness. Born in Washington Sept 29 she was a daughter of William and Louise Kellams and married Henry Schuck 50 years ago last March. Surviving four sons Henry LeRoy of Washington William Louis of Florida sister Mrs George Swords twins Ada and Suerte. Funeral arrangements by A Gill & Sons.
Building and Loan Associations in the district will gather in Washington Wednesday afternoon and evening for an interested program. Three associations in Washington will close at 3 o clock, with officials and pro teminary members taking part in the program at 4 o clock.
Several minor injuries were reported in a series of auto accidents Saturday and Sunday along Road 50 and nearby streets. At Bethany Church a man named Mode suffered facial cuts after a collision while passing a truck. he received treatment at the local hospital. In another incident near Washington, Darcus's roadster caught fire after a flare up from gasoline fumes, burning the rear of a car but causing no serious injuries. A third collision on Fourth Street involved Harold Ebler and Arthur Atherton, with no injuries reported. Also, two drivers, Mrs. Walter Gordon and Eugene Stephenson, were involved in a Meridian street crash causing damage and minor injuries, while Mrs. Gordons’s car and Stephenson’s vehicle sustained front and side damage respectively. The police noted minor injuries to Mrs. Gordon, Miss Raith DeBaun, and Stephenson, with no fatalities.

Sunday at 9:30 a sedan carrying five people left the road on Road 54 and plunged down a 30foot embankment after apparently stepping on the brakes. Sheriff Arvin arrived at the scene.
