Washington residents have recorded 5.69 inches of rain this month, surpassing the June average of 4.04 inches set by observer C. C. Feaganes. With half the month left, the excess exceeds the norm by more than an inch, and wet days are expected to continue.

Word has been received by local relatives of the sudden death of George R. Huettl of West Bend. He was a son-in-law of Mrs. Louisa C. Doyle of Montgomery. Surviving are his widow Mary Lucille Doyle Huettl and three children Homer Aileen and George I all at home, his parents Mr and Mrs Andrew Huett of Aberdeen South Dakota, and several sisters and brothers. Mrs. Louisa Doyle John Doyle and Mr and Mrs Homer Doyle left for Westport to attend the funeral held this morning at St. Marys church in that city.
The will of the late Mrs. Vandalia Coons was filed for probate in the circuit court clerk's office. Dated November 19, 1917, it named two sons Lennie A. and Leo T. Coons as heirs and Lennie as executor, with a codicil dated October 29, 1929.
Evansville resident George Nold formerly of Washington has been chosen from 150 Sherwin-Williams stores to select wallpaper patterns for next year. He will travel to Glen Falls during the week of June 12 for the annual wallpaper meeting where the section will be held.

Firefighters responded to a vehicle blaze on North Meridian and Helm streets last night. The car owned by Cecil Strange caught fire due to a shorted wire, causing minor damage.
Heilman Ash of Loogootee won a court decision for reinstatement after a city council removal. Judge Roget of Monroe County Court in Bloomington ruled Ash had been fully discharged and ordered the city to recognize Ash as chief of police and place him on the payroll, with Seal & Seal of Washington representing him.
Robert Wadlow, the Alton Ill youth known as the tallest man, paid a brief visit to Washington today and dined at the Blue Bird Cafe. His father says Wadlow is en route to the East with appearances planned through February of next year including the New York World’s Fair, with stops in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and New York.
Richard McDonald aged about 25 died this morning at his family home in Oklahoma City after a four year illness. He is survived by three sisters Mary Ruth Alma McDonald and Margaret Donnell of Washington and an aunt to the young Alec.
