Longtime Indiana Woman Dies After Illness
Mrs. Mary E. Burress Alford, 35, wife of John W. Alford of Road 50 A near Washington, died Sunday at 9:30 PM in the county hospital after a prolonged illness. Born in Daviess County in 1883, she lived most of her life in the area, married March 28, 1900, and had four children, one of whom died. Surviving are her husband, four children, a brother and two sisters. She was a member of Logan Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:30 PM at the Loogootee M E Church, with Rev. Shields officiating. burial will follow in the local cemetery.
