Supt. Clyde Parker announces Indiana University will run a speech and hearing clinic in Washington from January 30 to February 1. ILU officials will bring instruments to test faults in speech and hearing. City school staff will coordinate and extend exams to county schools for students in need of evaluation and corrective guidance.
Two transients, William Richard Murphy of Vincennes aged 25 and Leon Jaynes aged 20 of Seymour, were arrested last night by B. and O. detectives on trespass charges. Murphy suffered a badly torn ear from a box car door injury yesterday afternoon but needed no stitches.
The Actual Past Masters Association of Davies Martin counties postpones its meeting announced for Thursday January 26 due to conflicting arrangements. A new date will be announced as soon as possible by BG officials of the organization.

In Minneapolis a six year old, Bobby Lewis, wrote to God asking to see his friend Floydie Higstrom who died after a failed operation. A postal inspector reported the child’s letter described Floyd’s crossed eyes and his wish that other children not cry. A pastor and parents told Bobby Floyd was going to see God.
Indianapolis January 20 The national executive committee of the American Legion auxiliary will hold its annual Winter meeting here Saturday and Sunday.
Matthew Boyd 90 native of Knox county died this morning at his Washington home after a brief illness of heart. He had lived with Henry Miley at the farm southeast of here. Born November 22 1848 he was one of 17 children of John T and Christina Boyd. Surviving are wife Violet A Ruggies died 1937 three children Stary M Boyd Mrs C B and Walter H Boyd five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral at 2:30 Sunday at First Methodist church with Rev J Edw Murr officiating burial Oak Grove cemetery. Casket at Gill Funeral Chapel until services. Boyd belonged to First Methodist church Odd Fellows and Carpenter and ritual services by Odd Fellows Sunday afternoon. A special meeting will be held Saturday night to arrange rites.
