In Columbus Ohio three teenage girls were attacked by a knife-wielding assailant last night. The sisters Thelma Weaver 13 Lula 16 and Helen Thompson 18 were injured and taken to hospital in serious condition. The assailant fled into the West Side area as police mounted a search for the man.

A Montgomery fire yesterday afternoon caused about 20 dollars in damage after a blaze at Alex Newton’s residence. Firefighters responded promptly to the scene and prevented further spread.
Mrs. Susan Smith, 83 or 84, a Plainville resident for 43 years, died this morning at 8 20 at her daughter’s home. Born in Daviess County, she moved to the county as a young woman. Husband William F. Smith died 39 years ago. Survived by four children Mrs John Rink Mrs E C Hedden George Smith Ed Smith all of Plainville, 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements pending with Rev Buchanan of Gdon to preside. Smith was active in Plainville and Washington Christian churches.
Lieutenant Frank C. Crow n left the pursuit squadron at Bellridge Field Mt Clemens Michigan. He was born Friday the 13th in 1898 and plane No 13 has been assigned to him. He has flown about 50 hours nearly a quarter of a mile without mishap but in an automobile crash later was laid up for three.
