Washington January 10 George F Baker president of the First National bank of New York testified before the house trust committee detailing ties with J Pierpont Morgan and other financiers. He cited dividends of 22 600 000 and earnings since 1874 on a 500 000 capitalization. Baker described the creation of the First Security company and defended it as lawful while noting interlocking directorates and self perpetuating Guaranty Trust trustees. He opposed making bank assets public and said depositors can move funds if misled. Baker labeled the banks as the active Morgan of Wall Street and Morgan’s stand in financial domination.
