Wilkins and Smith, both in their late teens, pled guilty to auto thefts in Daviess County. They admitted teaming with Fletcher and Boscal to steal cars in Washington and at Shoals, then fled via river to Henderson before arrest. Detained suspects Fletcher and Boscal face further questioning as prosecutors file charges.
County Auditor R Ernest Clark announced receipt of the quay gasoline tax check for 22264.28 from the state and a federal payment of 5400 for the county hospital. City Clerk Treasurer Maudie Spakiing received the city's quarterly gasoline check totaling 2159.86.
Firemen yesterday afternoon made four runs to minor blazes, Chief EB Bateman reporting. Two calls came in at 1:45 p m from the Ray Conley home on Second Street where a sheet breeze caused a small blaze. A third run occurred later, and at 9 p m the Curtis Parker fire on Sugarland Road was only slightly damaged.

Clyde Parker and Harry Wampler have been chosen by the Indiana Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges to serve on a committee applying North Central Association criteria to Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. Lee Perkins infant son of Lee and Pearl Perkins of western Steele township was buried Saturday at 2 30 at Plainville. The child lived only half an hour after birth. Surviving are a brother and two sisters Eugene and Co at home and Mrs Marjorie Goodrid of Washington.
Roy Gray, a Petersburg truck driver, was arrested here over the weekend for driving a leaking load of coal along a state highway. He will appear in justice of the peace court to plead to the charge.
The Plainville Cemetery Association will hold an important Wednesday night meeting at 7 o clock in the Christian church basement. Matters are to be discussed, and it is urged that all members be present.
Hugh L. Cox was sworn in as mayor in a Monday noon ceremony before the city council and crowd. Officials and appointees took oaths, the council approved appointments, and Maud G. Spalding continued as clerk-treasurer for a second term of four years.
