Richmond Ind February 19 The local plan of the Internal Harvester Company was set for discussion to settle the strike with the state labor council pending broader settlement. The report notes the strike centers on IHC and involves other units of the company.

Washington February 19 The Interstate Commerce Commission today left unchanged the minimum coal freight rates already authorized for mid western railroads shipping coal to Chicago from the southern Illinois region. The carriers sought a lower rate but the commission, after hearing new arguments, maintained the previously approved minimums despite mining operators backing the lower figure.
In this county 450 men have been mailed selective service forms and 25 of the last 100 are placed in Class A. Next comes physical examinations and, if classified 1-A, they will be subject to the March draft call. Local board notes 48 will be taken from Davie county in March, prompting more questionnaires and classifications to ready the total.
The Washington Community Association begins its 1941 membership drive next Monday under a three member core committee. Twelve board members will co chair individual solicitation groups to cover all prospects. Dues remain at prior levels, with $12 for firms with four or more employees and smaller amounts for fewer staff and individuals.
