Local agent robbed of over $100 cash by two youths
John Petty of 509 West Vankees street reported to police last night that he was held up and robbed of more than $100. The two bandits, both under 19 and heavyset, disappeared in a car after one man shoved a tin in Petty’s face. Police and the sheriff searched the city for over an hour but could not locate them. The crime occurred around 2 o'clock as Petty traveled toward Plainville after finishing collections. Petty, undeterred, went to police headquarters to file the report. The officers suspect the bandits followed him from the north side area where he made his collections. The car make and model were not described.
