Trenton Feb 10 The women suffrage amendment was ratified by New Jersey today after an all night session as the assembly voted 1 to 34 in favor and the senate ratified the measure. The bill now heads to Governor Edwards for signature.
United States dispatches report Lexington under martial law after a riot over the courthouse trial of Wil Lockett, killer of Geneva Hardeman. About 609 soldiers patrols routes into the city while a second detachment camps near the penitentiary to prevent further outbreaks and protect the Frankfort prison transfer.
Mrs. Emily Parte, 24, was arraigned in New York on a charge of killing her twelve year old daughter Emily Margaret. She was held without bail for a hearing on Saturday. She remained cool and cried, then asked for the morning papers and said when the time comes someone will have a good reason for her acts.
Grand Rapids, Michigan, February 10. Herbert J. Rushton testified that refusing to back Senator Newberry doomed his political ambitions in the trial.
