Thomas J Gore Burns City merchant dies at 82
Thomas J Gore 82 widely known Burns City merchant died Tuesday afternoon at home from paralysis after a stroke two weeks earlier. Born August 11, 1848 in Lawrence County to David and Sarah Gore he married Elizabeth Hudson January 20, 1878. four children survived. He moved to Burns City about sixty years ago, built a mercantile business hauling goods from New Albany in poor travel times. A longtime member and elder of Burns City Christian Church, his funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the church with burial in Barnhee cemetery.
