One man died and 26 were injured in violent rioting in Chicago's stockyards district. Extra police reserves and riot guns were deployed at yard entrances to prevent further clashes as workers seek jobs and packers report reduced staffing.
Arthur D. Jenkins, ex vice president of the Wabash Bank of Vincennes, pleaded guilty to grand larceny and started an indeterminate penitentiary term in Jeffersonville this morning.
