President of Peru presents an Inca robe to Herbert Hoover aboard the U S S Maryland during his South American tour. A mission from Peru will later confer another gift at Antofagasta Chile. Archaeologists date the robe at about 2,000 years.

Washington December 6 The house agricultural committee failed to adopt a program for farm legislation at the short session of Congress Chairman Haugen said a special conference would be held later to craft a definite plan He warned that hearings on both farm relief and the tariff could block action and Rep Williams of Illinois said a special session might be needed to push farm relief He also criticized the McNary senate relief bill as not sufficient to make the tariff effective on farm products.
A car wreck on State Road 41 between Evansville and Princeton last night left Miller and two Princeton youths injured as the Miller sedan overturned several times and burst into flames in a ditch. Miller suffered painful burns and was later cared for at Princeton Hospital before going home. An all Texas driven vehicle collided with Miller’s, causing the crash and fire. the other two youths escaped with minor injuries while a passing motorist moved all three to medical aid. Authorities note Miller’s burns are painful but not life threatening, with the accident prompting a cautious recovery period.
David and a co defendant to plead insanity in circuit court Wednesday for the first degree murder of Deputy Sheriff Fred Certain and Constable Ury. Certain died from wounds after a confrontation with Harvey when officers were dispatched following Ury's death.
