The county board of commissioners set a $25 reward to recover the drowned river man William Maher. Coroner Bonham oversees the salvage with dynamite and hired workers while debates over legality and cost continue.

They had believed she had been stolen a year earlier and after traveling widely, disguised as gypsies, they located the camp. The gypsy leader John Adams and others seized the girl claiming she was voluntarily given to the tribe. Deputies and Clay County citizens escorted the girl back, amid a brief riot threat from the nomads.
The Eagles selected officers including President Miles Jones and Worthy President Edward McGatterty. Other titles named were Vice President James O'Brien Chaplain Lester Lee Secretary Ben W W Clawson Treasurer George Cosgrove Guardian Gus Patterson and Guardian Herbert Woods Trustees Joe Faust George D Hordall and Z A Bonham. Installation set for January 1st.
The House Committee on Banking and Currency met for two and a half hours to discuss currency matters. Members stated the conference was closer than ever, authorized a five member subcommittee to draft a currency bill, and planned no hearings until the draft is finished. In Hammond Indiana after a two day city court trial John Huber constable and IT Modjeska attorney are remanded to Lake Superior court on larceny and blackmail charges. They allegedly extorted 25 dollars from saloon keeper Bieracki for alleged cigarette selling accusations while displaying a warrant. Bieracki had already bonded on Nicholason law charges.

Brazil Ind December 5 demand for coal in Indiana has fallen off in recent days with only one mine in operation at the Brazil Block coal company. Reports from the luminous district suggest mild weather suppresses activity, a rare lull in a season when large mines usually run.

In Van Muyen township, Woodling received a judgment of one cent in a personal injury case against James McGee. The jury also awarded one cent in costs, with total costs listed at $26.05 for the plaintiff and $11.52 for the defendant.
Albert Knotts, conductor on extra freight for the E and L, slipped into a deep gravel pit by the White River at dawn Wednesday. A brakeman pulled him from about six feet of water. Knotts recovered and rode on to Evansville later that morning.
The funeral for Jacob Sahm, a victim of the White River drowning, was conducted at St John's Church this morning. A large crowd of friends and relatives attended as burial followed at St John's Cemetery.
Wain and O. W. Deckard sold two south side houses to J. E. Rodarmel for 1500 dollars. Rodarmel will move into one property as Anderson property changes hands in the deal.
