Reports from Petrograd and Berlin say German lines in Poland are pressed and a fierce struggle continues across a front about one hundred miles long. Berlin bulletins claim 9,500 prisoners, 19 cannons and 36 machine guns captured in North Poland as of December 1. Paris notes continued cannonading in Belgium with no infantry attacks reported.
At a Cincinnati meeting leaders from across the nation launched a drive to raise funds for Europe war sufferers. Masons aim to collect at least two dollars per member from about 1.56 million Masons and distribute relief through grand lodges of countries at war, excluding Austria and Russia where other means apply.
