Miss Kidwell Hurt In Fall At Track Meet

Miss Elizabeth Kidwell daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles A Kidwell of 800 East Herrory street suffered a dislocation of the left elbow Tuesday afternoon at the races after stumbling over a board. Dr Bowman of Odeon provided immediate care and the injury was reduced then Kidwell was taken to the hospital tent where Miss Olive Feagans Assisted, with the track guards noting her condition. She rested today and was expected to recover rapidly.

First Jay’s racing program opens at Graham Farms track

A large crowd witnessed Dick Rudy drive to a 2:10 pace in the 2:3 class where two drivers were unseated. The afternoon card featured 2:24 pace with Dick Rudy leading Boswell and May Cochato, and a 1 mile running race with High Prince and Manipulator among entrants. Evening program included 2:30 pace with Gypsy Armstrong and Hollywood Honey Boy in action.

Three sentenced on jail plot in Indiana

Jeffersonville Indiana August 13 Judge George C Kopp Clark Circuit court fined and jailed a Kentucky couple and an Alabama man for a jail break attempt. Mary Adams 10 year old co defendant received a year in Indiana womens prison for aiding her husband Clyde Hamilton 26 Alabama former convict got one to five years for possessing a still and helping in the scheme. Hamilton was sent to the state farm for a year for his part.

Mary Dodson 51 Dies After Illness at Home

Mrs. Mary Ellen Dodson of 50 West Ninth Street dies at 2 49 AM after years of heart leakage and ill health. Born in Washington 51 years ago last March she lived most of her life in the city and was married to William Dodson. She was a member of the First Christian church. Mr and Mrs Charley Kern an elderly couple missing for two days returned to St Louis today with a $70000 negotiable bank draft for a Toledo real estate purchase. Police feared they were abducted on a Toledo bound train near Defiance Ohio but Kern refused to discuss their whereabouts beyond saying they were not kidnapped and that is all.
