Local thundershowers are probable tonight and Saturday with cooler air arriving Saturday. Cooler conditions expected especially in the northwest portion late tonight.
Brady a former editor of Daviess county died at his East St Louis home on Thursday August his. He was born and raised in the old township near St Michaels and married Katherine Sause in 1884. Brady and family moved to East St Louis in 1902. services will be held from Red Heart Church on First Street in St Louis Saturday morning.

The Kroger Grocery & Baking announces a new store in the Masonic Building at 210 E Main Street Washington this week. Clem Frederick transferred from the Kroger Store to manage the meat department in the new store. The store is stocked with staples and fresh produce including meats cheese and canned goods under Country Club Foods Jewel and Inch lines. Washington residents Clem Frederick and Canary invite the public to inspect the store and its full food market.

Indianapolis Aug 2 Three more deaths in Indiana were attributed to the heat wave. Charles Hardesty 48 died while working in a wheat field Vincent O Connell 10 drowned in a gravel pit near Muncie and 67 of Hope died from heat exhaustion.

Chicago officers from the state's attorney's squad seized Mandeville Zenge of Canton Missouri on West Madison Street. He was rushed to the county building where his father J Andy Zenge denied the youth was his son as authorities confirmed the capture amid the investigation.
