Noah Pikins a 66 year old retired coal miner was found dead on the Lewis farm five miles north of Indian Springs Martin County. A 12 gauge single barrel shotgun lay beside the body and entered the left chest penetrating the heart death likely about an hour before discovery. Coroner Maude Webber is investigating with no verdict yet. Pikins born January 7 1882 in Martin County married early widowed survived by a brother and three sisters. Burial set at Roach Cemetery north of Indian Springs.

Seven persons hospitalized after a feud between Bennett and Jeffers brothers escalated when the Bennett men armed with a shotgun and an ax forced entry into the Jeffers home and opened fire.
