Self defense claim in fatal shooting near Plainville
Frank Mallet says he acted in self defense when Walter Simmons was shot after an evening dispute in Steele and Bogard townships. The case centers on a mid night altercation at a livery stable in Plainville with accusations from Simmons and Ray that led to a gun being fired twice. Simmons died hours later. Mallet was arrested at Gallatin England’s home and detained by Sheriff Fitzgerald. his cousin Lute Mallet was also present.
