Fire alarms sounded when a neighbor discovered a blaze in the attic of Mrs Patterson's two story home shortly before 9 o clock. West End units fought the fire with three hose lines for about thirty minutes, uncovering extensive attic flames and resulting in a loss of several hundred dollars plus water damage to several rooms.
