An early morning accident northeast of Plainville injured Ervin J. Williams, a local insurance man, when a Ford veered off course and overturned after steering gear failure. Calv in Miller, driver, sustained minor scalp wounds. Fielding M. Colbert and William Young escaped with shakes. The trio, with Williams, were en route to Washington when the crash occurred. Williams was hospitalized for treatment, while Miller and the others recovered.
Menlo E Moore, former Vincennes and Washington vaudeville figure, launches Moore Feature Films Inc in Chicago offices. The company controls state rights for several specials and holds territory for Gaumont two reel and Durston flood reel titles in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin. W H McPherson of F B Fornwald Co furniture firm reports his sister Mrs Philip Elsel has died in Kansas City after a long illness. She leaves three children. Burial will be in Kansas City. McPherson will not attend the funeral as he has just returned from there.
Mr. Sargent, born in Meare, died suddenly from apoplexy on Washington Street front a stroke. Survived by five children including Mrs. Lillie of Terre Haute and Mrs. Jenkins of Sargent. Funeral set for 7:30 p.m. at home with body shipped to Owensboro Friday. flood delays routing through Ellors and Bloomfield.
Jffersonvine Tod reports the Pangett board of trustees reorganized with Alvin Padgett as president and Ter Hue as vice president. John H. Weathers becomes treasurer and Shirley secretary. The board authorized pensionary expenditures and noted Ropcoe Aghby, a Washington Grays watcher, arrived en route to Battle Creek for a tryout.
Walter Selphens, a native of the city, died after a heart trouble. John Helphenstine, his uncle, filed a report from Denver. The body has been shipped and funeral arrangements are pending arrival. relatives John Helphenstine and Low Helphenstine plan to attend in Indianapolis along with other family members.
Two strangers, Jarrell and T. B. Parpin, were arrested at the 2H ten station by a couple of tremens for trespass and throwing bits through the window of Colbert. Mayor MrCarty presided. Parpin was fined and costs set by the mayor.
