The State Highway committee selected plans for bridge work and paving to begin May 2nd. Notice was received regarding action on a foot and mile northeast of a location and a 40 foot widening project from Binova to New.
Washington received its first large legal beer shipment this morning. Local firms with licenses began receiving the product, including K. Club, Henry Schuck, The New Cafe, and Chas Borders. Advertisements for Schuck, The New Cafe, and Pal were expected to arrive before day end.
Five counties sent representatives to the district State High School Discussion League event at Washington High School supervised by Superintendent N. E. Helderman. LeRoy Dugan of Daviess County led entrants Dubois Orange Gibson and Vanderburgh. The topic was whether state and local revenue should come from non tangible property sources.
