State Police Search for Killer in Indiana Murder Case
Indianapolis April 18 State police continued their search for the major suspect in the torch and dismemberment murder of Leland Miller 24 of Indianapolis. The man sought is Howard A Pollard 24 who has been arrested 18 times but never served a prison sentence. Miller's body was found Thursday in a fire razed cabin near Ladoga. Earlier the dismembered hand and left foot were found in a burn pile under a bridge near Advance. Police say Pollard had a revenge motive after Miller wounded him in the neck with a .22 during a quarrel over a girl. Pollard has been driving a car matching a death car description seen by Howard Troth 26 a farmer who found the hands and foot. Pollard has not been home since Monday. his parents say he is on a fishing trip. He is on a $2,500 bond pending appeal of an end larceny conviction to the Indiana supreme court. Pollard's 18 prior arrests include charges such as grand larceny rape assault and battery and intent to commit murder robbery and first-degree burglary.
