Otis Tavor of Dubois R R 4 arrived in Daviess county Wednesday with a severe ankle wound. Dr. R L Klein Dorfler operated yesterday, tying the vein after the vein kept bleeding. The patient suffered weekly bleeding spells and was in serious condition but is expected to recover barring complications.

William C Lamb, 81, longtime Madison area resident, died at 6 30 PM after eight years of illness. He was born in Lawrence County and moved to this county at age four. He married three times, leaving his third wife Mary A Summerville. He is survived by his wife 11 children 10 stepchildren 31 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren plus siblings and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at the Union Christian Church with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
City workmen started installing five foot sewer sections on Lemon Street with a large derrick, placing 14 sections by Wednesday afternoon and aiming for about 20 more that day, totaling roughly 100 feet of sewer laid daily.
