Printing Of the New Statutes Ahead Of Schedule
About 190 000 copies of the 1907 Indiana statutes were printed and dispatched early by the state printer. The book contains around 380 pages with 360 chapters including acts and joint resolutions. Daviess County received roughly 200 copies while Marion County was among the last to receive its copies.

Foreman of the Gar Shop Dies After Long Struggle
Frank A Slater a longtime foreman of H. & Q. Southwestern and predecessors O. M. Company died at his South Side home at 6:30 Tuesday afternoon after a paralytic stroke. Born in Prussia September 20, 1837 he came to America with parents in 1846 settling at Croghan New York. He worked in cabinets, chair making and piano construction before joining the railroad shops in Cochran Indiana in 1876 becoming general foreman and later moving to Washington. He married Mary Coakley in Oswego March 27 1859 and leaves two children Charles F of this city and Mrs Caroline McConnell of Aurora Indiana. He was a Mason and Odd Fellow and widely regarded. A service will be held at 9 Poplar Street Thursday at 7:30 p.m.. burial Friday in Aurora.

Githeng of Sandbarn Knox county posted a fifty dollar reward for the arrest and conviction of the person who blew up David A Bruner’s drug store with dynamite yesterday morning.
