Explorers unsettle ancient cave near New Hampton
A group from Asbury visited a Wr. Riddle farm near New Hampton to explore an old cave once inhabited by Indians. They crawled through a 100 foot passage into a 18 by 20 foot chamber with a 2 foot ceiling, then found a second room with stalactites and a through‑passage to another chamber. Two experienced miners judged the distance at about 300 feet end to end and described a rough, adventurous underground outing.
